Presentation Request
Request A Presentation
Before you request a presentation, please note the following:
The UWC offers presentations for undergraduate classes, but not graduate classes.
Please request Introduction to the UWC presentations at least one week in advance. Please request all other presentations at least two weeks in advance. We may not be able to fulfull requests that are sent outside of these time limits.
We can normally offer presentations during the hours the UWC is open (M-Th, 9am-7pm; F 9am-3pm). To schedule a presentation outside these hours, please submit your request at least three weeks in advance. We will do our best to accommodate such requests, but may not be able to.
We cannot accomodate repeat presentations for multiple discussion sections of large lecture courses, such as UGS 303. If you would like a presentation for a large, multi-section lecture course, please schedule one presentation for a general lecture meeting, or schedule a TA training so we can train your TAs to deliver the presentation on their own in their individual discussion sections.
Our longer presentations are most useful for students once they have settled into their classes and are familiar with their upcoming writing assignments. Accordingly, we recommend that you schedule our longer presentations after the first or second week of the semester.
There is significant overlap between our Writing Process and Research Paper presentations. We recommend that you request one or the other for a class, but not both.
Students get the most out of presentations when their instructor or TA is present to field discipline- and course-specific questions and to explain how presentation material is specifically relevant to class assignments. If you are an instructor or TA requesting a presentation for a class, you must plan to be present during the presentation. If you cannot be present, the presenter will not deliver the presentation.
Please see our FAQ page for more information on the types of presentation we offer. To request a presentation, please submit a UWC Presentation Request Form (powered by GoogleDocs).
Thanks! We look forward to visiting your class.
